MORRIS – As one of the few pet crematories in the state, Faithful Friends is a local and comfortable option for the final stage of your pet’s life. Located on NYS Highway 23 in Morris, Faithful Friends Pet Crematory offers a unique way to say goodbye to your loyal companions.
Faithful Friends was opened in May of this year and is owned and operated by Nanette “Nan” Johnston and her husband William. The husband and wife duo saw a need for a local and easier way to say goodbye to the pets of the community and decided to open Faithful Friends. With over 19 years experience at both operating a funeral home and a crematory, the Johnston’s have both the expertise and know how to ensure a professional and compassionate way to say goodbye.
When caring for a previous pet Nan Johnston commented that she was astounded that her animal was sent all the way to Pennsylvania to be cremated. She saw a need for a more local and personal way to care for her loved ones. As a retired Nurse and having experience working in non-profit organizations, growing up on a farm, and working in a funeral home, “everything fell into place,” Johnston said about opening Faithful Friends. “It was really just my love of animals that made me want to do this.”
