Oxford 9, Walton 6

WALTON – Oxford won back-to-back games for the first time this season beating Walton on the road Wednesday.

Dylan Depew went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, and two runs scored to lead Oxford (4-5-1). Jon Heggie had two hits and two runs scored driving in a run, and Daniel Lawton went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Heggie pitched five innings to earn the win, and Kevin Davis struck out the side in the seventh for the save. "We had six extra-base hits, that's the most we've had this season, and we were definitely putting it in play more than normal," said Oxford coach Chris Palmer. "We had some baserunning mistakes and we made some errors, but we were able to overcome that adversity."
