S-E survives and advances

Boys’ Basketball

Sherburne-Earlville 59, Canastota 47

SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville advanced to the Section III Class B semifinals Sunday afternoon at Onondaga Community College outlasting Canastota Tuesday night.

Ben Khoury hit three free throws with just over a minute to play, and the Marauders made six total free throws down the stretch to pull away.

“I told the kids before the game that at this point in the season, it’s survive and advance,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “The fourth quarter, we survived. We knew this game would be tough because we know each other so well, and they (Canastota) play really hard.”
