County Preps For Final Phase Of Office Relocation Project

NORWICH – Chenango County legislators are between phase two and phase three of a three-phase office relocation project that has been years in the making.

After the successful move of the Chenango County Court offices from the County Office Building to the Eaton Center in the fall of 2014, crews underwent phase two: moving the county’s legislative offices from the 1991 wing of the County Office Building to the second floor of the building’s west side.

With phase two now complete, county officials aim to start phase three – relocating the mental hygiene offices from a leased facility on Leilani’s Way in the Town of Norwich to the vacant space left by the legislative offices in the 1991 wing. But in order for phase three to be executed, building renovations have to made to adhere to state and federal requirements for mental health offices.
