Alleged Sex Offender Indicted On 11 Counts; Nine Others Indicted

NORWICH— The Chenango County Grand Jury indicted an alleged sex offender on 11 counts and nine others for violence, theft and other drug and alcohol related crimes on Dec. 17.

• William J. Quigley, 53, Sidney, was indicted on course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree, a class B felony; four counts of criminal sexual act in the first degree, a class B felony; four counts of criminal sexual act in the second degree, a class D felony; and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.

It is alleged during the time period of Sept. 2006 through Jan. 2008, at 3554 state Highway 12 in the Town of Oxford and at a private residence on Cathleen Street in the Town of Oxford, Quigley did perform oral sex on a male child under 13 years of age on more than one occasion. The child was nine years of age when the alleged sex crimes first took place in Sept. 2006.

It is also alleged during the months of Sept. and Oct. of 2006, at a private residence on Cathleen Street in the Town of Oxford, Quigley did perform oral sex on another male child less than 15 years of age on more than one occasion. The child was 13 years of age when the alleged sex crimes took place.
