UV Finishes Regular Season On The Upswing

NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley finished regular season league play in the Midstate Athletic Conference on the upswing winning its third straight game on Friday.

Than Garry scored first for UV (8-6) beating two Oxford defenders after getting a pass from Johnny Schermerhorn.

Leading by just a goal at halftime, Schermorhorn netted the second goal scooping up a rebound off Derrick Schwab’s shot that hit the crossbar, and Dakota Merlo completed the scoring netting his goal unassisted.

UV is idle until the MAC crossover game.

Bainbridge-Guilford 8, Afton/Harpursville 0

BAINBRIDGE – Bainbridge-Guilford secured a tie for first place in MAC division play along with Greene after shutting out Afton-Harpursville Friday.

Zach Smith and Jake Cuozzo had two goals apiece for the Bobcats (14-2), who will likely play a one-game playoff against Greene for the division title and an opportunity to compete in the league championship game.

Kyle Hanvey had one goal and one assist for the Bobcats, while Ryan Jones, Sean Jones, and Adam Bauerle were credited with goals.
