Happy October, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is preparing for another Halloween on the way but that's a little ways off. The Toddster has been busy with the new Fall Season just getting underway with some new shows that we already covered. Found a few movies for you if you want to get warmed up with the air getting a little chillier. See what we see, guys!

New on DVD

Transformers:Age of Extinction- Being a hero is never easy especially when you're on the run. Optimus Prime has been the leader of the Autobots for thousands of years and has been fighting the Decepticons for a long time. After the events in "Dark of the Moon," the Government doesn't want to have anything to do with them. The Autobots have gone into hiding because they're whispers of a faction in the Government that has been hunting them down for some evil purposes. Now a down on your luck inventor named Cole Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) finds a broken down truck that might lead him to paying some of his bills. He learns that the truck is really Optimus and someone has been trying to kill him. Optimus doesn't want to trust him at first but he might not have a choice. The faction that has been following him and his fellow autobots get a bead on him and are lead by a man named Harold Attinger (Kelsey Grammar). Optimus and Cole later learn that they're kidnapping autobots to use in some deadly new scheme in league with the Decepticons. Will they be able to stop them in time? Another Transformers movie is currently in development along with a new animated series set for release on the Hub in 2015. Stay Tuned!

Story Continues Below Adverts

Mr. Peabody and Sherman- Definitely an animated feature of a different nature. Families come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. This is one that really takes it very literally. At a glance, this dog was an average one on the surface but when you get closer, you're in for a surprise. Mr. Peabody (Ty Burrell) was a dog but had an advanced intellect which made him smarter than a lot of people. He also had an adopted son named Sherman (Max Charles) that he had to take care of. What made them extra special was that they had a knack for traveling through time. Everyone knows though that traveling through time can be a risky proposition. If you change something in the past, you have a pretty good chance of changing something in the future. Mr. Peabody and Sherman have done that and now that to have to find the exact time when it happened so they can set things right. Can this duo pull it off? My sources tell me that a sequel is alreadyy being written. More on this as it develops.

New on Blu-Ray

Krull-Becoming a king comes with a big responsibility. Colwyn (Ken Marshall) was to be wed to Lyssa (Lysette Anthony). Others had other ideas. An evil empire led by powerful beast like creature has been moving from planet to planet taking whatever he wants and destroying everything in his path. He decides to kidnap Lyssa to gain control of the kingdom and during his assault leaves Colwyn for dead. Colwyn is really alive and recruits a rag tag band of adventurers to go and save his bride to be. With them and the aid of an ancient weapon, Will Colwyn be able to save Lyssa before her time is up? Some good movies along the same lines include "Inception,""Eight Below," and "

Meteor(1979)- No one likes to have anything thrown at them. Especially the Planet Earth. Paul Bradley (Sean Connery) was one of the leading astro-physicists in the World but was always considered a troublemaker in a lot of circles. Offcials in the Government learn about a comet that hit an asteroid belt and now an 8 miles chunk of it is heading towards Earth. They think that Paul is the only one who can come up with a solution to stop it. He also invented a satellite AKA "Hercules" that might be able to stop the meteor. He learns that it's too big for just his satellite. He also knows that the Russians also have a satellite AKA "Peter The Great" that can do the same job. The two combined have a chance to stop it. Now all he has to is convince them and the American Government to go along with the plan. Some of them don't think so. Can Paul show them that his plan is the best one before the Planet is destroyed? Another great movie from 1978 just out on Blu-Ray is "Dracula" starring Frank Langella and the Toddster recommends it if you like to be scared.

A couple of them will put a few scares in you. When the Toddster first saw them, that's what they did to him. More fun for next time. The Toddster will be right here.
