Laurens 2, Bainbridge-Guilford 1

LAURENS – Bainbridge-Guilford's perfect record through 10 games ended Thursday in a non-league defeat to Laurens.

Laurens, held without a shot in the first half, scored on two well-placed shots in the second half – the Leopards' only shots of the game. Jordan Shaul tied the game at 1-1 after an indirect kick, and Mason Weir scored the winner on a direct kick with 11:42 left.

B-G (10-1) took a 1-0 lead into halftime on Jake Cuozzo's tally. B-G hosts Norwich Saturday at 9 a.m.

Canastota 6, S-E 1

CANASTOTA – Canastota scored twice in the game's first five minutes, and had four goals by halftime in a win over visiting Sherburne-Earlville Thursday.

Steve Scaramuzino had two goals in the first half for the Raiders, who had just 12 shots for the game.

Kyle Cole scored his first varsity goal for S-E getting an assist from Tyler Rodriguez. Rodriguez nearly had three other goals, but his shots were turned away by Canastota keeper James Kimball.

"Where Canastota was deadly efficient, we were not, and that was the difference in the game tonight," said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez.
