NORWICH –Seven games in the book, and Norwich has still not allowed a first-half goal.

The Purple Tornado scored the lone goal at the 19-minute mark, and held on for the shutout win Wednesday.

Junior Michaela Fazio scored her first goal of the season beating an SV defender, then lofting a shot over the goalie's hands.

The Sabers did create some offensive opportunities, but had just one shot on goal in the second half. "Shelby Benjamin was huge in the middle of the field for us (on defense), and Shannon Moore has been an unsung hero for us at sweeper," said Norwich coach Adam Sprague.

Norwich goalie Kassidy Seary made eight saves for the shutout. Norwich (3-4) plays at Johnson City Monday.

Sherburne-Earlville 4, Adirondack 0

SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville unveiled a new offensive formation, and it worked perfectly in a shutout over Adirondack Wednesday.

Savannah Irwin had two goals for S-E , one in each half, Taylor Coughlin had the initial Marauders goal, and defender Stacia Beckwith converted on a penalty kick in the final minute.

"Coming off a tough loss earlier in the week, this is just what we needed going into the Clinton game," said S-E coach Kylie Davis.
