Cyclones sweep home opener

NORWICH The Norwich Cyclones opened their 45th season of Pop Warner football at Alumni Field Sunday with a sweep of Holland Patent.

The C team downed the Knights 19-6 before the home crowd. Griffin Mills had TD runs of one and 40 yards, respectively. The first Norwich score was set up by Torin Lawrence on runs of 20 and eight yards to the one yard line.

Dylan Bresee scored on a 31-yard scamper in the second, with Blaine Orlando adding the point-after touchdown. Mills, Timothy Duke, Damien Kane, Mallachi Gaters, Kyle Pounds and Orlando led the Cyclone defense.
