Alleged Drug Dealers, Others Indicted By Grand Jury

NORWICH – On Wednesday, July 16, the Chenango County grand jury met and determined a number of criminal indictments. There were ten appearances, all of which resulted in charges of a felony offense by the jury.

• John A. Zangari, 51, Norwich, was indicted on the charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; and criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony.

Per the indictment, on May 28, 2014, Zangari was in the City of Norwich and in concert with others when he did knowingly and unlawfully possess 40 glassine envelopes of the narcotic drug heroin with the intent to sell. It is further alleged Zangari did allow individuals to gather at his residence for the purpose of engaging in the unlawful sale of the controlled substance. He did benefit monetarily from the controlled substance transactions that took place at his residence.

• Raymond H. Sitterly, Jr., 37, Lacey-Jane Zinkhan, 19, and Marissa D. DeForest, 27, all of Norwich were indicted on the charges of attempted robbery in the first degree, a class C felony; and attempted robbery in the second degree, a class D felony.
