NORWICH – For those who long for some bright semblance of spring, Hospice & Palliative Care of Chenango County is providing the answer with their annual “Cash and Carry Plant Sale.”

The sale is on Wednesday, May 14 in Norwich’s East Side Park. Flowers will be on sale from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there will also be a chicken barbecue from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

The flowers come from Pires Flower Basket, Inc. of Norwich and range from geraniums and gerber daisies to hanging baskets and fuchsia. The chicken barbecue will be provided by Smoke ‘n Bones of Binghamton. There will be halves for $6 each and a dinner (a half and two sides) for $9. Guests are welcome to enjoy lunch and peruse the flowers for sale in the park.

The sale is an extension of Chenango Hospice’s pre-order sale, which involved 51 sites throughout the county. Those who participated in the pre-order sale will pickup their flowers on Wednesday, May 7, which totaled an impressive 2,000 flowers. Norwich customers can pickup their flowers at Weiler Park from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. that day.
