NORWICH – The Chenango County Republican Committee will be hosting a special reception with Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino on Tuesday, May 6 in the Town of Norwich.

The event, which is open to the public, is scheduled to take place from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Fred’s Inn – located on state Rout 12 three miles south of the City of Norwich. According to the Chenango Republican Committee, this is a chance for locals to discuss the questions and concerns they would like to see addressed as the November general election draws near.

Following the meet and greet, Astorino will tour Marshman Farms, LLC in Oxford to continue discussions of the issues that impact the county’s leading ag industry. This will be Astorino’s first farm stop in the state since officially announcing his candidacy in March. The 45-minute farm tour is also open to the public.

“We’re very fortunate to have a candidate for Governor come to our county and meet some of the people here,” said Chenango County Republican Chair Thomas Morrone. “And we are very pleased to have him tour one of our farms.”

Morrone also noted the last Republican gubernatorial candidate to visit Chenango County on the campaign trail was former Governor George Pataki.

Astorino is presently serving a second term as Westchester County Executive.
