Norwich’s Chaffee Awarded Track Athlete Of The Meet At 25th Annual Don Howard Invitational

COOPERSTOWN­­­–The Norwich girls track and field team placed first out of 12 teams, scoring 93.33 points at the 25th Annual Don Howard Invitational in Cooperstown.

Sydney Chaffee was awarded Track Athlete of the Meet, winning the 200m Dash, the 400m Dash and the 4x100m Relay.

Brooke Bonney won Field Athlete of the Meet, setting the meet record in shot put.

Caroline Stewart finished second in both long jump and triple jump and sixth in the 200m Dash.

The Norwich boys varsity track and field team placed fourth, scoring 50.5 points.

Matt Murray was awarded the Track Athlete of the Meet, winning the 1600m and breaking the meet record for the 800m with a time of 1:59.93.

Adrian Moses placed third and fourth in the triple jump and long jump respectively.

“The athletes who were at the meet performed above expectations against a competitive field,” said Norwich varsity track and field head coach Shaun Horan.

Norwich will host the REK Invitational on May 2.
