Oxford Beats Delhi In Overtime

Oxford 42, Delhi 39 (OT)

OXFORD – Oxford’s Kevin Davis had two steals in the last minute of overtime, and the sophomore forward made a a single free throw with 13 seconds left to seal the Blackhawks’ second win of the season Monday night.

Delhi forced overtime when Ben Denison banked in a three-pointer with one second left in the fourth quarter. Alex Specht scored inside for Delhi in the first minute of overtime to give his team the lead, but Oxford’s defense tightened up. Buckets by Cameron Heggie and Matt Moore gave Oxford the lead for good.

“We were able to make a couple of big defensive stops at the end,” said Oxford coach Tim Davis. “We’re playing hard and playing pretty good defense. We’re just trying to grind it out.”

Moore led Oxford with 13 points, Davis had 11 points, 11 rebounds, eight steals, seven assists, and six blocked shots, and Heggie tickled twine for 10.

Oxford hosts Deposit Wednesday.
