Crawford named SUNYAC Player of the Week

ONEONTA – The State University of New York Athletic Conference has selected SUNY Oneonta senior, Alyshia Crawford (Oxford/Oxford Academy), as its women's basketball Player of the Week. Crawford led the Red Dragons to a pair of victories on its recent trip to Puerto Rico.

The Red Dragons defeated Salisbury State University and Mount Holyoke in the San Juan Shootout.

Crawford hit a three-pointer as time expired to lift Oneonta to a 54-53 victory over Salisbury in the opening game of the tournament. Down by two and with three seconds left, Oneonta had to inbound the ball under its own basket. Sophomore Lyteshia Price (Liverpool/Liverpool) threw a long pass, which was received by senior Kelly Mulligan (Pearl River/Pearl River) at the opposite three-point line. Mulligan then passed the ball to Crawford, who pump-faked and got the shot off with a defender on her. That game-winning basket capped an 18-point performance, to leader all scorers in the game.
