We're Back in Action, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol has been really busy going to fundraisers and reviewing movies for the Theater. The Toddster is happy to report he survived his vacation and managed to keep plenty busy. The best of both Worlds this week with two new DVDS and two brand new movies in the Theater. Here's what we've got.

New on DVD

Man of Steel – Updates for old stories never gets old. Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) knew his life would never be the same. Jonathan and Martha Kent (Kevin Costner and Diane Lane) believed their son had a destiny when they found out he had some amazing powers. Clark decides to go out into the World to see if there was some way to check out to see what that destiny might hold. He meets Lois Lane (Amy Adams) who is investigating a mysterious object that was found in the ice. Clark starts to check things out and learns that the object is really a scout ship from his home planet of Krypton. He inserts a code key that was in the ship he arrived in and meets his real Father Jor-el (Russell Crowe) who tells him about the destruction of his Homeworld and the threat posed to him by General Zod (Micheal Shannon). Can Clark come to grips with his new destiny and save the Earth from Zod? Cavill teams up with Ben Affleck when "Batman Vs Superman hits theaters in 2015.

Turbo – We all like to get somewhere fast. What if you're really slow to start out? Cartoon Spotlight brings us a new story in the form of Turbo. Turbo always had a dream to be a champion and he wanted to win the Indy 500. Being a snail, though, might make that a little tough. After a freak accident gives Turbo the gift of super speed, He realizes he just might have a shot at winning that race. Will Turbo and his pals take the checkered flag? My sources tell me that a sequel may be in the works. Stay Tuned!

Story Continues Below Adverts

Escape Plan – There's always a way out. Just ask Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone). Breslin had a unique talent for solving puzzles. The puzzles he specialized in were breaking out of prisons. Ray would get put inside and then he would find a way out that would determine what a prison would have to do to make sure that no one would escape. The CIA approaches him and they want to test a maximum security prison that they claim is state of the art. He realizes that there is more to this deal than meets the eye. Ray has never turned down a challenge yet. He may want to on this one. Ray is kidnapped and taken to a prison codenamed "The Tomb." There he meets Warden Hobbs (Jim Caveizel) who ensures no one leaved his prison. Inside Ray meets Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Swarzenegger) who has been there for a while and Ray may need an ally if he's to break out this one. Can they work together long enough to break out?

The Toddster's Take – There are times when you're watching a movie and you get a feeling of nostalgia. Growing up on action movies like I have just brought back a great feeling seeing two of my favorite action stars team up. This movie had a great story and the action just balanced itself out. Stallone and Swarzenegger might be getting older but they still got it. Check this one out!

Thor: The Dark World – New adventures for our favorite heroes never gets old. Since his adventure with the Avengers, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) brought Loki (Tom Hiddleston) back to Asgard to face justice and has been working with his fellow warriors to bring peace to the nine realms since the destruction of the rainbow bridge. Also, Thor's thoughts are never far away from his lady love on Earth Jane Foster (Naltalie Portman). Jane is always working probing the heavens for life and is also on the lookout for Thor's return. Her curiosity may get the better of her this time though when she taps into a mystical energy called the Aether. The Aether was used by old enemies of Asgard called the dark elves and were ruled by a being named Malekith (Christopher Eccleston). The energy from the Aether is now inside Jane and Thor must come back to help her. The only way to do that is to being her to Asgard where her Arrival is not really accepted with open arms by everyone especially Odin (Anthony Hopkins). Malekith becomes aware of the Aether and goes to Asgard to find it. Thor and his friends do their best to defend Jane and Asgard. Can Thor find a way to stop Malekith and save Jane?

The Toddster's Take – Here's another case where the sequel just adds to the characters getting better. Hemsworth plays Thor with an ease that comes natural. Another example of Marvel keeping their streak with great movies. Make sure you stay through all the credits. Can't wait for the DVD.

A pretty exciting week for this time out. The rest of the year is supposed to be really busy with a lot of new movies coming up and a teamup is just around the corner too.
