SOUTH EDMESTON – The leading manufacturer in greek-style yogurt, Chobani, will host a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new South Edmeston Community Center. From 9:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, the community is invited to witness the ceremony and partake in the day's festivities as local officials and business leaders dedicate the new facility.

Scheduled to speak at the event are U.S. Congressman Chris Gibson, New York State Senator James L. Seward and New York State Assemblyman Bill Magee.

A benediction by South Edmeston Community Church Pastor Jeff McLallen is expected and presentation of the community center's keys will take place as well.

The new South Edmeston Community Center project – originally initiated by local resident Kathy Dye – “will provide a gathering place for area residents and neighboring communities to join together for special events and programming,” according to a press release from Chobani.
