NORWICH – Norwich junior Michael Oralls joined the exclusive 1,000-yard rushing club in Saturday's Class B playoff loss to Johnson City. Oralls scored on a 61-yard run in the third quarter to push his season total over 1,000. He finished with 75 yards rushing for the game and 1,066 for the season to lead all Chenango County running backs.

Oralls is just the eighth NHS back since 1970 – and first since Chris Mattingly in 2007 – to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark, and just the second junior to accomplish that feat. NHS Sports Hall of Fame member, Barry Benjamin, is the only other Tornado junior over the past 43 years to surpass 1,000 yards rushing.

Oralls had six 100-yard games this season topped by a 203-yard performance in a win over Owego. He averaged 6.9 yards per carry and scored eight touchdowns. Through two varsity seasons, he has 1,519 rushing yards.
