Sherburne-Earlville 6, New York Mills 2

SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville’s trend of improved play crescendoed in its highest scoring outing of the season Thursday against visiting New York Mills.

After giving up two goals to New York Mills in the first six minutes of play, the Marauders (5-5-1) ripped up six unaswered goals. Megan Rodman scored at the 17-minute mark, and Alexa Bates knotted the game two minutes later.

Bates had two more goals after halftime to finish her ha trick, and Emma Hodges and Taylor Jordan poured on the offense with goals. “Success helps, but we’re definitely more confident in the offensive zone,” said S-E coach Sheila Cooman. “It’s all starting to click for them.”
