Cyclones sweep archrivals Oneida, Camden

NORWICH – The Norwich Cyclones’ Pop Warner teams swept archrivals Oneida and Camden, Sunday at Alumni Field.

The Cyclones “B” team opened its season with a resounding 26-0 win over the Oneida Indians. Elijah Rodriguez opened scoring in the second stanza with a four-yard touchdown and added a five-yard TD in the fourth. Zachary Mills had a pair of TDs – a 15-yard run in the second and a three-yard run for a touchdown in the third. Jacob Davis added a point-after touchdown and a two-point kick in the third. Noah Bufalini, Collin Montgomery, and Davis rushed for good yardage as well.

On defense, fumble recoveries by Davis and Shane Lawrence stopped Oneida’s offense. Davis and Bufalini lead the “D,” with David Berger, Lawrence, Rodriguez, Brayden Supensky playing good defense as well.

The Cyclones “C” team stopped the Camden Blue Devils 21-0. Andrew Mullen opened the scoring in the first with a three-yard TD run. Dante Geislinger added a one-yard touchdown in the second. Ayden John-Lorimer added a pair of P.A.T. pass receptions from Michael Squires for a 14-0 halftime lead.
