What's the good word, Patrollers?! The DVD Patrol has been having the Toddster finish up the summer with a new review, but more on that later. We might even have some news on a certain team who will be returning to team with yours truly. Here we go.

New on DVD

Pain and Gain - You know when someone reads a book and they think they see the movie, they have all the answers on whatever the subject is. In this case, not so much. Based on a true story, Daniel Lugo (Mark Wahlberg) worked at a series of dead end jobs and works as an exercise trainer but he has a past of getting into trouble and is always looking for a way to make an extra buck. He thinks he might when he targets client Mark Schiller (Tony Shaloub). Daniel knows he's going to need some help so he asks just released inmate Paul Doyle (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) to kidnap the client and give him the motivation he needs to give them the money they want. They get what they want and go after others. The good life might have a way of catching up with them. Will Daniel and Paul be caught or will they be able to stay ahead of the law? Working with Micheal Bay (Transformers), Wahlberg and Bay are working on the latest in the franchise and Johnson is working on a new "Hercules" movie, both set for release next summer.

Also on DVD

The Frozen Ground - No one likes unfinished business especially Jack Halcombe (Nicholas Cage). Living in Alaska, you would think it wouldn't be like it is in the big city. That couldn't be further from the truth. Jack has had a case that has been bothering him for a number of years. Someone has been killing a number of people over the years and he always gets close but the killer always has found a way to elude him until now. A recent 17 year old girl (Vanessa Hudgens) who has escaped from jail may have key information about Robert Hansen (John Cusack) who she claims is the one that has been doing the killings. Jack is sure he finally has everything he needs to go after him. Can Jack stop Hansen before he kills again? One of Cage's co-stars from another movie stars John Travolta teaming him with Robert Deniro, have just starred in a new DVD just released into stores called "The Killing Season." Check it out.

New on Blu-Ray

Dark Angel - (1990) - You never want to make a promise you can't keep. Especially around Jack Caine (Dolph Lundgren). Jack has always made it his reputation to always come through with his promises. He may have to break one when he becomes aware of a string of murders that are happening in Los Angeles. Saddled with an up and coming FBI Agent (Brian Benben), the case starts to take a weird turn and discovers that the killer is actually an alien. He's not easy to take on either. Jack will have to find a way. Will he be able to do it? Lundgren is currently teaming with Sylvester Stallone and the two are currently working on "The Expendables 3," set for theaters next year.

Now in Theaters

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones - It's never easy when you find out your life has been planned out for you. Based on the best selling book, Clary Fray (Lily Collins) was your average teenager enjoying her life until she comes home to discover her mother is missing and she has started to see very strange things. Then, she meets Jace (Jaime Campbell Bower). It turns out that Jace is part of a team of shadowhunters who help keep the world safe from demons and the things that go bump in the night. Jace is the only one who can help Clary deal with what's coming and help make sense of her developing powers. She's wanted to make sense of all the things that her mother didn't tell her about. Will Clary be able to find her mother and deal with the impending danger that is about to strike the city?

The Toddster's Take - I'm always up for something different. I wasn't planning to see a movie but I always like to get a surprise now and again. This one was a lot of fun and a great popcorn movie to catch. It might be a little scary for the little ones but if they like Harry Potter, they will like this one. See it.

A little bit of everything this week. My team has been so busy doing the reporter thing all summer, but I think they'll be coming in with me to do a teamup right before Colorscape, and the Toddster is planning to be there. Hopefully, this year we won't get rained out (knock on wood). The Toddster returns next week.
