Another success for Norwich Pharmaceuticals Employment Program

NORWICH – The Norwich Pharmaceuticals Summer Student Employment Program this year sponsored twelve local college students. On Thursday, Aug. 22, the Norwich Pharmaceuticals Leadership Council and company business managers hosted the student interns at the Canasawacta Country Club to recognize each of them for their contributions and to learn about their experiences.

The Norwich Pharmaceuticals internship program focuses on delivering technical career experiences to community students who are currently studying at a post secondary institution. The work experience is aligned with each student’s area of study. This year, the company had students studying chemistry, biology, information technology, engineering, pharmacy, accounting, and animal science.

Luke Murphy, manager of recruitment for Norwich Pharmaceuticals, said “Norwich Pharmaceuticals relies heavily on technology. It is important for us to build a strong pool of highly skilled candidates for our business, who want to live and work in Chenango County. Not only does this program give the student direct exposure to work in their chosen field of study, but it also creates a potential hiring pool for the business in the future.”

This year’s interns include: Brianna McEvoy (chemistry); Dan Cleveland (chemistry); Hunter Westcott (pharmacy); Megan Matott (biology); Sarah Jenny (chemistry); Tara Reed (information technology); Vinny Festarini (chemical engineering); Stacia Mohr (animal science); Amanda Corbett (information technology and business); Jacob Misch (engineering); Colleen Monday (marketing); and Athena Dolgos (accounting).
