Vehicle rifling: A growing problem police attribute to drugs

OXFORD – Reports of missing items from unlocked cars have been cropping up throughout the county, especially along the Route 12 corridor. On Tuesday, an Oxford resident was arrested for allegedly taking items from a car as well as taking the car itself.

Jennifer E. Hafner (also known as, Jennifer E. Langer), 34, Oxford, was arrested for third degree grand larceny, a class D felony; fourth degree grand larceny, a class E felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. Langer allegedly stole a car parked in the Village of Oxford and, along with a 13-year-old female pasanger, drove to the Norwich area.
