AFTON – Afton powered past Norwich in its Otsenango Pony League opener rolling to a 12-3 victory.

Joe DeVona pitched four innings for the victory allowing just one earned run. Afton’s Conor Graven-Briggs was a perfect 3-for-3 – and a homer short of the cycle – scoring four runs. Mitchell Mertz was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, and McGwire Tuttle had a 2-for-2 night with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored.

Chris Stirone and Gabe Gojani had one hit and one run scored for Norwich.

WORCESTER – Carson Pochkar tossed a complete-game victory for Worcester in a 9-6 victory over Milford. Pochkar drove in three runs and teammate Stephen Griffith had two RBI...Oneonta won a pitching duel over Stamford, 2-1. Brian Eggler struck out 12 for Oneonta to earn the win.
