Felony hearing in Ramsaran murder case postponed

NORWICH – Arrested in connection with the murder of his wife, Jennifer L. Ramsaran, Ganesh Remy Ramsaran, 38, of New Berlin, posted bail Wednesday afternoon and has since been released, according to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office. A felony hearing – originally scheduled for 1 p.m. today in the Town of New Berlin Court – has been adjourned, as Ramsaran is no longer in jail. He will re-appear in court at a later date which has not yet been scheduled.

Ramsaran, on May 17, pleaded not guilty to one count of second degree murder in Chenango County Court, just hours after his arrest by authorities. His bail was set at $150,000 cash or $300,000 property by Chenango County Court Judge Frank B. Revoir, despite District Attorney Joseph McBride’s request he be remanded without bail.
