NHS Earns Second STAC Win Of The Season

Norwich 5, Johnson City 3

JOHNSON CITY - Norwich earned its second Southern Tier Athletic Conference victory of the season building a 5-0 lead in the fourth inning Friday.

Norwich struck for three runs in the top of the third. Molly Moore's flyball to right field was misplayed, and Moore came around to score. Later in the inning, Shannon Moore had an RBI double, and Jordan Sanford's single and ensuing error scored Shannon Moore.

Norwich padded the lead with two more runs. Molly Moore had an RBI double to score Krista Barrows, and Katie Callahan added an RBI single.

An error and a walk allowed JC to scored three times in the last of the seventh before winning pitcher Shannon Moore settled down. Moore pitched 4 2-3 innings of no-hit ball striking out seven and walking three for the victory. "It was something different to get out to the early lead, and stay there," said head coach Scott Moore.

Sidney 2, B-G 1

BAINBRIDGE - Karissa Lambrecht had two hits for Sidney, and her basehit in the top of the seventh scored the winning run in the Warriors' triumph over B-G Friday.
