OXFORD – This Sunday, December 16, at 2 p.m., 6 On The Square (6OTS) is proud to present The Burns Sisters. This special holiday musical show, that mixes traditions old and new with the famous Burns’ spunk and spirit, will bring together all ages in the joy and wonders of the season.

Growing up in Binghamton in a large family of twelve children, Marie, Jeannie and Annie’s family all sang together. Their father, the late John Burns, had an impressive career in politics, which developed a family culture that believed in standing up for the rights of all people. They still walk their talk and bring their beliefs, values and ideals into their music.

Marie, the soprano, sings high harmony, plays rhythm mandolin, and writes on guitar. She loves the old-time sounds of early country and bluegrass.

Annie is a second soprano and sings high or low harmonies depending on the song. She writes prolifically, using either piano or guitar for accompaniment, and she loves to belt out a rock ballad.
