OXFORD – Tonight, at 7:30 p.m., 6 On The Square (6OTS) welcomes singer-songwriter Cosby Gibson to their stage as part of their monthly Emerging Artist Series. In just a short while, Cosby has been very busy writing, touring, and singing; developing her contemporary folk style and a following.

Cosby Gibson is from Richfield Springs and comes from a family with a rich background in music and performing arts. Her lilting soprano vocals are accompanied by her lively strumming, acoustic guitar playing. Cosby sings poetic lyrics of mysterious mountains, imaginative nature and of early settlers during the birth of our nation. Entering her world of song, Gibson creates a calming atmosphere.

She began writing and singing contemporary Folk music just five years ago and already has an impressive show resumé on both sides of “the pond.” Performances in the United States include over 275 events, including 6OTS Open Mics, with appearances in all media: print, radio, and television! One recent performance in Brussels, Belgium, recalls an audience of more than one hundred people that included a warm ‘welcome’ reception of De Kam Folk Club members after the show.

“It’s almost as if Cosby composes from another time, simpler, more honest, more concise, without frivolous self-importance.... Follow Cosby’s footsteps through the forest, to a cabin with a stone fireplace, warm and inviting.” --Greg Jackson, Upstate Live
