GIRLS’ SWIMMING

Greene 102, Sherburne-Earlville 70

GREENE – In its next-to-last regular season meet, Greene won nine of 12 events and went on to beat Chenango County rival Sherburne-Earlville Tuesday.

The Trojans were winners in all three relay events, and the meet-closing 400-yard freestyle relay came within .25 of breaking a longtime school mark winning in 4:01.76. The time recorded by Jenny Yeager, Julia Arboit, Emily Bertram, and Chelsea Carlson was also the second-best Class C 400 free time this season. “Tonight, we decided to dedicate the meet to the seniors, and we just swam incredibly well,” said Greene coach Mike Platta.

Carlson, Arboit, Bertram, Payton Cutting, and Jenny Yeager were also victorious in individual events. The Trojans (5-6) finish their regular tonight at Oneonta.
