EARLVILLE – The Greencards known for their high-energy Americana music will play at the Earlville Opera House at 8 p.m. on Saturday. As a result of their energetic live shows, the band was named Best New Band at the Austin Music Awards and won New/Emerging Artist Of The Year at the Americana Music Awards in 2006. They also gained the notice of two of America’s biggest music icons and spent the summer of 2005 opening for Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. Their performance is generously sponsored by Good Nature Brewing; come early to meet the brewers and attend a Brew Tasting for concert goers between 7pm and 8pm.

The Greencards have steadily won increasing acclaim for their Americana music. The band’s releases have topped the Billboard Bluegrass charts. They were nominated for Grammy Awards in the “Best Country Instrumental” category in both 2008 (for their Viridian album) and 2010 (for Fascination). They’ve earned ovations from “newgrass” music devotees at Merlefest and from indie-rock loyalists at Lollapolooza and the Austin City Limits Festival.
