BINGHAMTON - Norwich defeated one of the elite programs in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference toppling Seton Catholic Central for the first time in at least 17 seasons Friday afternoon.

With each team sitting on three points apiece, Breanna Cashman closed out the match for the Tornado taking her third singles clash with the Saints’ Lauren Crowley, 7-6, 7-5.

With the victory, Norwich (6-2) has now won six straight matches with three more division battles scheduled this week. “Year in and year out, Seton Catholic Central has had a quality team from top to bottom,” said Norwich coach John Stewart. “We had an opportunity on Friday, and we seized it. The biggest asset of this team is that they’re all competitors who challenge balls and don’t quit. That is why we won this match.”
