NORWICH – Five people charged with a variety of felony and misdemeanor crimes appeared in county court Monday; one was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $100,000 cash bail.

• Chad D. Walters, 31, address unavailable, was remanded to the county jail on $100,000 cash bail following an incident in early July. Walters is accused of violating an order of protection – issued by Chenango County Court – when he was allegedly sighted in the Adirondack region camping with his three children and their mother, the subjects named in the order of protection. He faces additional criminal charges for letters he is accused of writing to his daughters and their mother, and will re-appear in court at a later date.

In July, Walters was indicted on charges of first degree rape, a class B violent felony, third degree rape, a class E felony, second degree sexual abuse, a class A misdemeanor and second degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor.

Judge W. Howard Sullivan reminded Walters that – if he should post bail – the order of protection remains in effect.

• Savannah M. Collins, 25 – also known as Savannah M. Gallo – Norwich, was arrested on an active warrant and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility after allegedly violating the terms of her probation.
