Smyrna Citizens’ Band To Hold Third Concert Tonight

SMYRNA – The Smyrna Citizens Band will hold its third summer concert of the year at 7:30 tonight in the bandstand above the Smyrna Public Library.

There will be a little something for everyone, according to Smyrna Town Clerk Geraldine Day, including performances of “Grandioso March,” “Ballad For Evening,” “Guadalcanal March,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Lassus Trombone,” “Salute to America,” “Ma,” “Bad Boy Boogie Woogie,” “On the Beautiful Blue Danube,” “American Riversongs,” “Latin Winds” and “Children’s Prayer.”

Performances will continue to be held each Monday evening through Aug. 6. The program is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, which is administered by the Chenango County Council of the Arts, with support from Governor Andrew Cuomo and the state legislature. Refreshments will be provided by the Methodist Church and Ope’s Dog Stop.
