Chirlin To Speak At Forum
Published: July 9th, 2012

NORWICH – The Chenango Community Forum will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Guernsey Library in Norwich. The speaker will be Donald Chirlin, retired public school teacher. He will be talking about the pros and cons of term limits for our elected officials at the national, state and local levels.

Chirlin taught political science in the public schools, was an adjunct professor for SUNY Morrisville, taught in the prison system, and has been active in local politics.

As we know at the national level, the re-election rates for many of the members of Congress can run above 90%. What would be different about our politics if, rather than having professional politicians, we had more exchange of ideas and perspective with term limits for all our elected officials?

Come to participate in the community forum this Wednesday evening at 6:30 at Guernsey Library. It’s a place for “civil conversations about difficult topics.”
