Legion Riders raise money for military hospital

NORWICH – The American Legion Riders held their seventh annual Poker Run on Saturday to benefit the Landstuhl Hospital in Germany.

The event started and finished at the American Legion Post in Norwich, with stops at the Oxford Veterans’ Home, a privately owned Vietnam Memorial in DeRuyter and numerous legion posts in Chenango and Otsego counties.

The purpose of the ride was to raise money for the hospital, the largest American military hospital outside the United States. Bill Fowler created the program which has grown from 76 riders to over 100 in the short time it has been running.
