Andrew Golden pitched six strong innings for the victory giving up just one run. He struck out seven and walked two, and he was supported by two-RBI nights from Ryan Moore and Richard Ryan.

Oxford pulled away in the fourth inning scoring five times to break a 1-1 tie. Moore hit a run-scoring double to make it 2-1, and Ryan added a two-run single. Golden helped his own cause finishing 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

“Our pitchers have been doing a better job of not putting people on base with walks, and Andrew was in command the whole way,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer. “Our pitching has been coming around, even going back into last week.”

Oxford (3-4) plays at Harpursville Thursday.
