CHENANGO COUNTY – The Otsego Land Trust and Otsego Lake Association are co-sponsoring their third annual photo contest titled “Water, Water Everywhere” for Otsego County and neighboring towns in Chenango County.

According to Marcie Foster, outreach coordinator for Otsego Land Trust, the contest is designed to emphasize the “importance of water in the lives of people, plants and animals.”

The required subject of submissions is fairly broad, said Foster, although photos of outdoor water sources from the Otsego region and parts of eastern Chenango County are encouraged.

Streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, springs and wetlands are just a few of the suggested topics participants might consider, she explained. Any outdoor photos “depicting the abundance of water in our region” are eligible. Kitchen sinks and/or bathtubs are not.

“We’d like to get as many participants as possible to really promote the Otsego Lake Watershed and the overall importance of keeping our upstate New York water sources clean and beautiful,” said Foster.
