CHENANGO COUNTY – The New York State Sportswriters Association announced today that seven Chenango County football players were selected to the 2011 all-state football teams.

Greene seniors Isaiah Webb and Ricky Carbone along with Bainbridge-Guilford senior, Billy Holden lead the local contingent as first team honorees.

Also making the club were Oxford junior Paul Wonka, a second team pick, Sherburne-Earlville sophomore, Austin Jasper, third team; B-G senior Ryan Porter, third team; and Norwich junior Grant Brightman, fourth team.

Webb and Carbone were selections on the offensive and defensive lines respectively in Class C, and Holden was named a first team linebacker in Class D.

Wonka, Chenango County’s top rusher, was a second team running back in Class D; Porter was a third team offensive end in Class D; Jasper a third team linebacker in Class C; and Brightman a fourth team linebacker in Class B.
