DVD Patrol

We’re in the home stretch, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is finally here for December and it’s the last month of the year already. Time flies when you’re having fun, or in our case watching movies. The Toddster is recovering from Twilight Syndrome and is just starting to shake it off. Bad movies can be depressing. Anyway, this week we have a chance to see some new movies and revisit a couple of favorites of the Toddster’s. Time to see what’s in the race.

New on DVD

Friends with Benefits - You have to be careful because friendships have a way of always changing. Dylan (Justin Timberlake) thought he had a great relationship with his significant other until she decided it was time to take a break for good. Jamie (Mila Kunis) was sure that her boyfriend thought the world of her. Both of them turned out to be wrong. They both have had bad luck and have decided that they want a relationship without all the complications that come along with it. Jamie and Dylan decide to take it to the next level and at first they seem to doing fine. Later, their plan starts to change. What will the two new love birds do next and will the relationship become even more complex? Timberlake can be seen in theaters right now in the movie “In Time.”

Story Continues Below Adverts

The Smurfs - There was a time when Saturday morning cartoons were a way of life and kids could actually look forward to the weekends. The Toddster admits to watching the Smurfs when he was a kid. Based on the cartoon, the village of those blue little creatures who live in the Forest are always being stalked by the evil wizard Gargamel (Hank Azaria). Gargamel may be close to finding their village when he casts a spell that propels them into the real World. Gargamel, along with his cat Azrael, follows them and our little blue heroes might be in trouble. They soon get some help from Patrick (Neil Patrick Harris). Patrick is very familiar with them and tries to ease them into big city life as best he can. Can he help them find a way back to their World before Gargamel finds them? Harris can be seen on the show “How I Met Your Mother” airing on Mondays on CBS and can be seen in another movie currently in theaters called “The Muppets.”

Also on DVD

The Six Million Dollar Man - Season 1 comes into stores for the first time. Steve Austin (Lee Majors) was one of the best test pilots around until a space shuttle he was testing puts him near death. The only way to save his life is to become the test subject of Project: Cyborg. The project will give Steve new Bionic limbs that will make stronger, faster, and better than ever before. The operation is a success but Steve is not sure how he’s supposed to go on with his new life and powers. Steve is sent to the Middle East to save a prince who has been captured. Steve gets captured too and now must find a way out. Can he do it? The first season is now available with following seasons coming soon in stores. Also, check out www.6mdm.com for the complete collection. The Toddster already has it and it’s incredible.

Smallville - All good shows must come to an end. The Toddster was sorry to see this one go. Season 10 is now available and this is the one everybody has been waiting for. In the Season 10 opener, Clark has just had his battle with General Zod and he has sent all the bad guys away. Not before Clark has been stabbed with a Kryptonite dagger and falls to his death. Luckily, Lois (Erica Durance) is on the scene and manages to pull the dagger from him, allowing Clark to heal instantly. Now he has to help his friends out and pick up the pieces. A clone of Lex Luthor has arrived and takes Lois hostage. Also, Lex has planted a bomb at the Daily Planet. Will Clark find a way to save Lois or save the Daily Planet? Heroes all have tough decisions to make. Season 10 is in stores now with Seasons 1-9 available too.

That’s all we’ve got for this go around. There are a few more patrols before we have a teamup for the end of the year and then the Toddster will reveal his favorite top five movies. It’ll be a long month, so stay tuned and join us next time.
