DVD Patrol

Hope we can warm up a bit, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is in and we’ve come back with some movies to get us going for the Fall. Where does the warm weather go? Anyway, The Toddster is still reeling from sugar shock this week with Halloween being at the beginning of this week. Our horror special went great and I hope everyone was able to make some choices for themselves. There are some for this time around and let’s get going!

New on DVD

Cars 2 - It’s always fun when friends get together again. Cartoon Spotlight has a couple of pals teaming up for another big race. Lightning Mcqueen (Owen Wilson) and his old friend Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) are joining another big race only this time they’re going to Europe to participate in the first ever Grand Prix race. Mater get a little sidetracked when he’s drafted for a top secret mission that could have him in a bit over his head. Thank heaven that Lightning and their friends are looking out for him. Will they be able to win the race and save Mater or should he kiss his carboreuator goodbye? Another old of Shrek’s is getting his own movie, ‘Puss in Boots,” is now in theaters.

Story Continues Below Adverts

Crazy Stupid Love - Life always has a way of throwing you a curveball. Just when you think everything is going good in your life, something happens. It did to Cal (Steve Carrell). Cal had a really good job and things seemed to be going well for him at home. Then, Emily (Julianne Moore) decides she has had enough and wants a divorce to be with somebody else. Cal needs some help and he gets it whether he wants it or not. Jake Palmer (Ryan Gosling) has everything and he decides to make Cal into what he is - the ultimate ladies man. After Jake puts Cal through his crash course of love, Jake sets his eye on Jessica (Emma Stone). Unfortunately, Jake’s moves aren’t working too well on her and now he knows he has to reinvent his whole playbook. Can Jake win her heart and is Cal going to find what he’s looking for? Gosling can be seen with George Clooney in “The Ides of March” in theaters now.

Also on DVD

Captain America - Heroes get their start somewhere as I’m fond of saying. Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) just wanted to make a difference and fight for his country. There was only one problem. He was too weak and small to qualify for the Army. That is until he met Dr. Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci). The doctor saw something in Steve that might make him the right man. Steve was chosen to take place in a top secret experiment that might make him into a super soldier. Dr. Erskine’s process was a success but was shortly sabotaged by an agent working for Hydra under the leadership of Johann Schimdt, aka the Red Skull (Hugo Weaving). Steve’s friend is killed and he is disregarded to be nothing more than a lab rat. Steve gets a chance to go behind enemy lines after he finds out that a friend of his has been captured. Now he has the chance to prove himself and go after the man who changed his life forever. Is Steve going to make a difference in the War and stop the skull once and for all? Evans can be seen in theaters right now with Anna Faris in “What’s My Number? Captain America will be back teaming up with Thor, Iron Man, and The Incredible Hulk coming out in May 2012.

New on Blu Ray

Jurassic Park - History always has a way of repeating itself. In some cases, sometimes it needs help from science. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) were a couple of scientists who studied fossils and tried to teach students what the world could’ve been like when Dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Now they will have to be taught. John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) decides he wants them to approve a brand new type of theme park that he is building. This isn’t your typical park that you go to to ride on rides or have fun. What if you could see just what a Dinosaur was like and up close? They’ll get their chance when people working for Hammond have found a way to clone them. The scientists soon discover that you don’t want to get too close because someone causes a major malfunction in the park’s systems and the animals get loose. Will out experts be able to escape from them before it’s too late? Jurassic Park 2 and 3 are available on Blu Ray in stores now with a fourth movie already being planned.

November is here and we’re just getting on the way. Christmas is just around the corner and but it’s a long time until the end of the year. Next week is our six year anniversary. What will we be doing? Come back next time and find out. The Toddster is out of here.
