Cyclones C team wins league title, heads to state tourney

WATERVILLE The Cyclones C team downed Rome, 7-6, here Sunday to win the Tri-Valley League Championship.

The C team is 25-2 over the last three years, with two championships and a runner-up loss in overtime last year.

The Cyclones reached the Rome 15-, 8- and 3-yard lines in the first half behind the rushing of Zackary Mills and Drew Walsh, but couldnt reach paydirt. Drew Walsh recovered the Cyclones second half kick-off to the Colts, and then the Cyclones mounted a drive of 50 yards, with Walsh scoring on a 10-yard run, and adding the game-winning point after touchdown run.
