Greene's Driscoll reaches scoring milestone

Boys’ Soccer

Greene 1, Sidney 0

SIDNEY – Greene senior Alex Driscoll reaching a scoring milestone Thursday afternoon at Sidney. Driscoll scored the game’s only goal in the second half, his 26th of the season and 100th overall in his five-year varsity career.

“It was a typical Alex Driscoll goal, and he made another nice connection with Alex Leone,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman. “Sidney was packing the box with eight or nine players, but Alex was able to find that one seam.”

After getting a pass from Leone, Driscoll beat the Sidney goalie one-on-one from eight yards out. Driscoll is now one goal shy of the school record for goals set by Jordan McMullen in 1999.
