NORWICH – The light showers yesterday and today have helped a bit, but this summer’s drought conditions and hot temperatures have taken their toll in the garden. Keeping blooms colorful has been an ongoing battle.

But what would the Chenango County Fair be without the garden clubs’ annual flower show in Floral Hall? In a desperate plea for posies of all shapes and sizes, organizers are encouraging participants to register any particular flower or flowers they hope to have, but to actually bring in whatever has survived the heat by next Monday morning.
