Agro Farma Growth Calls For Expanded NYSEG Line
Published: August 4th, 2011

SOUTH EDMESTON – NYSEG is planning to build a new electricity transmission line in order to meet the power needs of Chenango County and Agro Farma in South Edmeston.

To best address these needs, NYSEG will build a new 46-kilovolt (kv) transmission line from NYSEG’s County Line Substation in the Town of Sherburne through the Towns of Sherburne and Columbus to a new substation to be built near Agro Farma. The first 7-plus miles of the new transmission line is expected to be built parallel to an existing NYSEG transmission line using some existing rights of way. The remaining 2-plus miles of the new line will require all new rights of way. Property owners will be contacted to discuss any new easements that are needed.
