Chenango County Amateur golf tourney returns

PLYMOUTH Ė The Chenango County Amateur Golf Tournament returns after a decade-plus absence, Saturday, July 30 at Canasawacta Country Club.

The tournament is one day and open to men, women, and children in 11 possible categories. ďThis is a tournament where we really wanted to get kids involved,Ē said tournament committee co-chair, Mark DeMellier. ďTimmy Carson (C.C.C. owner) gave us the tools for the tournament, so we took this date.Ē

Divisions available are grades 6-8 (nine noles), grades 9-12, menís scratch championship, ladiesí scratch championship, menís senior championship, ladiesí senior championship, menís super senior, ladiesí super senior, menís A flight (handicap index 8-0-16.0), menís B flight (handicap index 16.1-plus), womenís A flight (index of 18.0-plus). Additionally, for an additional fee menís and womenís senior scratch players may register concurrently for the overall menís and womenís scratch titles.
