NORWICH – This afternoon at 3, behind the Howard Johnson Hotel, 75 N. Broad St., the Sherburne Wheelers ATV club and Sherburne American Legion Post Riders 189 will join in honoring a fallen hero.

The group will unveil a Marine Tribute Bike, built by Cross Roads Custom Rides at the request of Laurence Tremblay. The bike honors his son, Cpl. Joseph S. Tremblay, who died serving in Iraq.

The bike will be draped with an American flag from the Sherburne Fire Department ladder truck. The 12 by 18 foot flag was donated by the Sherburne Wheelers.

The group will ride to Gilligan’s Island, 64 N. Main St. in Sherburne for its weekly Bike Night tonight.

There will also be a 21-gun salute and 50/50 raffle organized by the Sherburne Wheelers. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

“It will be a very big event,” said Lex Danyluk, president of the Sherburne Wheelers and a Vietnam veteran. “A big event for veterans of all wars.”
