DVD Patrol

It’s finally here, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is in full summer mode and some great movies are coming up for the Toddster to look at. A lot of good DVDs are coming out too including some films the Toddster has already reviewed. Hope you enjoyed the teamup last week picked by Tyler and another member of my team will be picking a new idea coming soon in a column right here. Time to see what we see.

New on DVD

Drive Angry - Family is a pretty strong bond to keep someone going. For Milton (Nicholas Cage), it’s all he has. Milton passed away some years ago and ended up in hell. Now, he’s found a way to break out of hell and he has a pretty good reason. His daughter was killed and now his granddaughter has been kidnapped by a cult. They’re planning to use her in a sacrifice. Milton will do whatever he has to to cult leader Jonah King (Billy Burke). Milton also has to deal with an “Accountant” (William Fichnter) sent from hell to take Milton back. He won’t rest until he’s made the people pay for hurting his family. Can Milton find justice and keep out of hell long enough to do what he has to? Cage is just finishing up the new “Ghost Rider” film and is set for release some time next year.

I am Number Four - It may never be easy trying to find out what you’re supposed to or how exactly the mission gets done. John Smith (Alex Pettyfer) has a crazy lifestyle where he’ll just start to get comfortable and then he’ll have to move again with his guardian Henri (Timothy Olyphant). John has a pretty good reason for what he does because he’s from another planet and the beings he’s being hunted by will do whatever it takes to get him. John tries not to make friends until he meets Sarah (Diana Egron). Now the hunters after John are starting to get close but he’s tired of running and has started to get control of his new powers. Aided by Number Six (Teresa Palmer), is John going to be able to make a stand and save the town he now calls home? From the creators of “Smallville,” they will be working on a new reboot of “Charlie’s Angels” starting on ABC in the Fall. Olyphant will be back on the FX series “Justified” for a third season coming out next year.
