Delhi rallies by UV


Delhi 10, Unadilla Valley 8

DELHI – Delhi used a six-run third inning to retake the lead from Unadilla Valley in Friday’s road victory.

Kaci Anderson hit a two-run double in the Bulldogs’ third, and Katie Anderson added an RBI double.

Brittany Fairchild was 2-for-3 with three runs for UV (3-1), while Jen Elliott and Charlee Weidman had two hits apiece. Jordan Anderson hit a two-run homer in the third giving UV a 2-1 lead. “We played really well outside of that one inning,” said UV coach Eileen Lawyer. “We’ve been hitting the ball really well.”

COPES CORNERS – G-MU finished a busy week of games sweeping a doubleheader from Laurens in Tri-Valley League play Friday.

In the opening game, the Raiders started the game with back-to-back three-run innings for their only runs. Alicia Sebeck hit a two-run homer in the first inning, and Lauren Hill went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. Sebeck allowed four Laurens hits for the victory.

G-MU (7-6) used another fast start to claim the second contest. The Raiders scored five in the first, and after the Leopards tied the game in the third, came back with five more tallies in the third. Katie Bakhuizen and Sebeck had two hits apiece, and Logan Eltz finished with two RBI. Marissa Melrose went five innings to pick up the victory.
