Hello, all you Royal Patrollers! The DVD Patrol hopes everyone is recovering from the big wedding this past week. I know a lot of people were quite choked up at watching such a big event. I remember when his mother got married. Now I’m showing my age but we won’t get into that. The Hidden Gems went off quite well with some patrollers telling me they really liked that. We probably will do that again but there are some new movies to get to this time. Let’s look and see what we’ve got.

New on DVD

The Green Hornet - It’s amazing the road one takes to being a hero. No one really thought of Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) as someone that could even be one. Britt was pretty much a party guy and his father James (Tom Wilkinson) thought that too. After one of his wild parties one night, Britt finds out that his dad has been killed doing one of the stories he was working on as a reporter (Hey, I know a few of those). Britt starts to rethink some things and wants to do something with his life and avenging the death of his father might be the best way to do that.Britt will need some help and finds a strange choice in Kato (Jay Chou). Kato might seem strange but has a knack for finding the best way to approach problems. It turns out that Kato is a master fighter and mechanic. This gives Britt the idea he needs to finding his dad’s killers. Go undercover as a criminal and work from the inside. Putting on a mask seems like a good start and Kato comes up with some amazing gadgets including a limo (called “The Black Beauty”) all tricked out that would make the guys at West Coast Customs proud. Can Britt (as the Green Hornet) with his new partner, find out what is really going on and the people responsible for what happened? Another super hero movie coming to theaters is “Thor” and has just been released.

Story Continues Below Adverts

The Dilemma - An old rule that says “Honesty is always the best policy” never really said what was the best way to get there. Ronny (Vince Vaughn) has a really good friend named Nick (Kevin James) and the two guys have just started a new company that has really taken off. One day Ronny accidentally finds out that Nick’s wife Geneva (Winona Ryder) is having an affair with another man (Channing Tatum). Ronny want to tell Nick about it but Geneva will just deny it and that could put their new company in jeopardy. What is a guy to do? Wrestling with his conscience, Ronny searches for the right way to do it but not without finding out a few things about his pal he never knew along the way. Will Ronny make the right decision? Sources tell me that Tatum will be starring in “GI Joe 2” coming to theaters next year. Stay Tuned!

Also on DVD

The Incredibles - Blu Ray Spotlight is here with one of the Toddster’s favorites and a really fun cartoon. Mr. Incredible was one of the greatest super heroes in the World but saving people can be a tricky business especially when that person doesn’t want to be saved. He ends up getting sued and the Government decides to make Super Heroes tell them their true identities or give up being heroes. They decide to give up their alter egos and Mr. Incredible gets married to his lady love. Years later, they now have a family but Mr. Incredible misses the life of being a hero and goes undercover. Mr, Incredible’s wife Elasti Girl finds out that her husband has been working as a hero but has to bring the family with her to find out just where he has gone and what he’s been up to. The kids have powers just like their folks but have to learn how to use them pretty fast. The people their dad has been working for is really using him to find other heroes from the past so they can be killed. Can the family get it together in time to beat the bad guys into submission? Watch out for May 26 as another hero is back. His name is Po and he returns with his friends in “Kung Fu Panda 2” to do battle one more time.

Waiting for Forever - Friendship has a way of changing over time. It can evolve into something completely different. At least it has for Will (Tom Sturidge). Will has known Emma (Rachel Bilson) since they were kids. Emma ended up moving away and ended up in Hollywood. Will didn’t care. He always found a way to be close to the girl he thought of as his one and only. Things change for Emma when she finds out that her Father becomes sick and moves back home to take care of him. Right on cue, Will follows her. Is Emma going to realize that her priorities might change and Will is just the guy she needs? Bilson can be seen in the series “The OC” now available on DVD.

Sacrifice - Action Spotlight teams Cuba Gooding Jr and Christian Slater to find a missing statue. John Hebron (Gooding) was always one of those cops who got the job done no matter what. His motives change after his family is killed in a tragic accident. To find the peace he needs, John turns to Father Porter (Slater). Porter is going to need John’s help when a desperate criminal steals a very old statue. Porter kind of considers himself an agent of the Lord when it comes to doing what he needs to. Will John find his salvation helping the Father and recover what he and the church have lost? Slater can be seen in the new series “Breaking In” on Wednesdays at 9:30 on Fox right after American Idol.

That’s it for this week. Before we go, This weekend is a special time for mothers everywhere. I’m sorry my mother is in heaven now, but there is a special lady I’d like to dedicate this column to. My Aunt Arlene (or I refer to her as my Aunt Toots) has been there for me since my mother passed away. She’s someone I talk to everyday. Toots has helped my family and I out a lot and continues to be there for me. She also just turned 75 years young. This lady holds a very warm place in my heart and if anyone deserves a special dedication, she’s the one. The Toddster salutes all mothers and aunts everywhere!
